Little scraps of paper .... inbetween pages of old books, a long-forgotten diary, a scribbling pad with doodles .... and suddenly you find some words you had jotted down in the whim of the moment .... words that had rhythm, melody, poetry ..... words that bring back memories of sunshine after a rain-drenched monsoon, a flash of lightning easing off the sultry noons, dewdrops collected on the window sill, smell of corn roasting over the coals ...... Something tells me I need to revisit those words, live that life all over again .... in my dreams, in my thoughts .... and I need to share some of them too ... for these are not just my memories alone .....

An ode to a lover - waiting forever

The forest path, the barren trees
The crunches of dry fallen leaves
A gust of wind, a nip in the air
The birds flying to the southern sphere

I am waiting, I am waiting
My love for you I am waiting.

My log cottage is covered with snow
I trudge weary steps to my door
A cup of coffee, lonely days …
The logs crackle in the fireplace

I am waiting, I am waiting
My love for you I am waiting.

A window seat, laced curtains fly
A gentle breeze kissing the sky
Butterflies flying from bough to bough
New leaves, new fragrance, alls new though .....

I am waiting, I am waiting
My love for you I am waiting.

A thirsty day, a parched up land
A trickling stream, burnt up sand
A ghostly silence fills up the noon
A stillness prevails over the dune

I am waiting, I am waiting
My love for you I am waiting.

The raindrops on my rooftop fall
A music unending, toad’s mating call
The torrents overflowing the river’s brink
Paper boats sailing, islands sink

I am waiting, I am waiting
My love for you I am waiting.

The jasmine blooms in all its glory
Magnolias unfold a secret story
Cotton puffs sail the sky blue
Green grass bathes in morning dew

I am waiting, I am waiting
My love for you I am waiting.
